Started doing a wee bit of Urban Exploring, looking at and snapping, those abandoned places not usually seen and which may be gone soon.
Portsmouth has a never used Motorway junction on the M275 at Tipnor (Google Map Link)
Built in 1976 it was only ever 1/2 completed with two bridges but only one is used, the is other left waiting for the slip roads to be completed through it. There are also eerie subways protecting pedestrians from imaginary traffic, now used only by dog walkers passing through. It might be gone if the 2010 plans for developing Tipnor go ahead but for now it remains, as it has for over 30 years, a ghost of a motorway planners dream.
While we were out exploring also made it down to these two old beasts (Amphibious Cargo Vehicles) I have looked down so many times driving into the city. LARC-LX-50 & LARC-LX-16 are in fact massive, far larger than I had imagined also got a snap of the M275 bridge and the outside of the Greyhound Stadium.
Got an Easter Sunday Snap of Portsmouth Harbour from Portsdown hill today too.
