That was the year that was 2007

Another calender year not drunk, another sober birthday, another sober AA birthday another sober Xmas and another sober New years eve.

2007’s highlight was certainly falling in love my my lovely Girlfriend and getting to know her two girls, getting a Happy Christmas Dad card from the youngest made me blub a little.
Had a fantastic Xmas with C and the Girls, bought then built a massive tree which was loaded with decorations and overflowing underneath with presents for everyone. Even secured the much in demand Nintendo Wii although resorted to throwing money at that problem on ebay to get it and suffering from aching arms from playing too much tennis.

No idea what 2008 will bring, only hope its as good as 2007, if I start making too many plans for my life God develops a sense of humour and comes up with different ones for me, though to be fair so far his plans have worked out far better than mine.

Happy New year to anyone coming across this little site, my it be a safe one and for those in the fellowship of AA a sober one.

Tree Loaded with Prezzies

Selsey Lifeboat Station Pics

Selsey Lifeboat Station, originally uploaded by ukjohnd.

Added a few pics to my Gallery, accidentally broke both my beloved old camera’s that have travelled the world with me in the same week(The air was blue).
Got myself a little camera as a prezzy while I look for another big one, might try an SLR next as they’ve plummeted in price the last few years and my days of buying boy’s toys are over (sob!).
Took a stroll over in Selsey in West Sussex late afternoon and took a few of the winter dusk down by the RNLI Lifeboat Station down there.

3000 Days off the Booze

3000 Days off the Booze and any mind altering substances……..

Bloody Fantastic………

Hard work at times but the rewards are immeasurable. Instead of an early miserable lonely death, I’ve got fantastic friends, a relationship with my family a gorgeous girlfriend and a “just add water” young family. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be possible to have the life I have today when I landed in AA frightened and scared.

Still haven’t gotten over counting the days and hope I never do.

Migrated Gallery to Flickr and added some more snaps

Discovered my broadband package came with a free Flickr pro account which saves me the hassle of managing my own gallery app on the site.

Thanks to FAlbum plugin and Flickrs “blog this photo” feature it makes the whole process easier.

Added some of the snaps from Ghana, will have to start digging around my old hard drives to find some more of my better ones.

AA Newcomers

GSO has revamped the national sites Newcomer section. If you think you have a problem with Alcohol this is a good place to start and includes contact number for the AA helpline and email responders.

I particularly like the video they’ve put up to view on-line. Journey to AA – A short Video

ukjohnd.com is in no way affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous and is not representative of AA as a whole, this little site is a personal one and reflects only my own experience of revovery from Alcoholism.
