I’ve mentioned Frank Turner before who’s lyrics particularly ring a chord with this alcoholic.
Saw Frank perform again last week on Southsea Pier, a most dated and peculiar venue which is like stepping back to the 50’s. Crowd were pretty dead for the first two support acts but Frank soon got them going a consummate professional.
He played some of his old classic tracks as well as a few off the new album Love Song and Ire. My favorite being Photosynthesis about putting behind hedonistic days but refusing to join the rat race and succumb to mundane conformity and has with the fantastic chorus that titles this post.
And I won’t sit down And I won’t shut up And most of all I will not grow up
Here’s the video shot at a school with some great kids in it. Some of whose parents were at last weeeks gig.
Boys like new toy’s… This one does anyway and having been restrained and not buying a new PC and just upgrading the graphics card I thought it was time to replace my trusty old Nikon that had travelled the world with me and taken many thousand shots.
Got myself a nice new Canon 450D entry level Digital SLR camera, so can start taking decent snaps again.
Only played with it round my girlfriends flat today but so far I love it and started the long bank holiday weekend in the usual frenetic way but did get to have another go at teaching the youngest to ride her bike and seeing that sense of achievement and pride on her face as she gets the gets the hang of it. Tomorrow should be typical British rainy weather so a chill out day should be in order.
Trainwreck: My Life as an Idoit Must watch film of the year for recovering alcoholics of all ages, far better than the much vaunted 28 days It is a very funny film with some great scene’s set in AA meetings and based on a true story. Sean Scott, who’s film’s I’ve hated, pulls off a fantastic performance proving himself a very good actor and was as much of a surprise as Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Plot line reads
A dramatic comedy about a self-induced attention-deficit disordered, learning disabled, Tourette’s syndrome suffering, balance impaired, ex-alcoholic young man from the Upper East Side of Manhattan and the gold-digging girl who inspires him to try to get it together.
Added a small movie section to the site to pop up any of the films I’ve seen. Made very simple by a nifty little worpress plugin WP Movie Ratings
After a three year break my old buddies band Psychogenetic are back and are back into the studio. In honour of this I’ve redesigned their old website to be a little fresher.
Scary to think its 6 years since we set up that site and I started doing the photo’s at their gig’s.
